The ethnographic and religious museum (Bucerdea Vinoasa)
In an establishment especially built on this purpose, in the yard of the Orthodox Church of the Holy Archangels, a cultural facility was inaugurated in the year 2000 – it is called The Village Museum. The chambers were fitted with permanent exhibitions on the topic of local history and ethnography. Different stages of the historic evolution of this colony are being presented to the visitor, with traces of inhabitation since the Dacian citadel of Apoulon; the religious life is being exemplified through the wonderful frescos of the XVIII century painter Simon (Oprovici) of Belgrade. In addition to this, one can see the local traditions within the inside of a peasant house presenting a specific woole-spinning gathering and an exhibition for old photography. Traditional weaving & sewing workshop (Bucerdea Vinoasa)
Especially arranged in shape of an active wool-spinning gathering, the workshop offers the visitor a presentation of the long way that the “thread” must cover from the stage of raw material up to the finite product within the peasant household; the visitors discover the wool-processing tools, and they also can be tought into the traditional weaving and sewing technique. The churches of the village
On a length of about 2 km, the visitor can observe the evolution of religious life in the community of Bucerdea Vinoasă. From the wall fragment (of the XVIIIth century) of the old village church up to the present sites of the churches of St. Elias and the Holy Archangels, one can identify the craftsmen and the painters who have contributed with their effort to these edifices; one can also see the old religious books and icons that decorated them. The Dacian citadel from Apoulon / Piatra Craivii (Bucerdea Vinoasa)
Of all Dacian colonies of the county, the most important was developed on a haughty chalk rock named „Piatra Craivii” (the Craivii-Stone), located 7 km north from the village Bucerdea Vinoasă. The perspective given by those 1078 m height facilitated the development of a strong fortification with a real control over an important section of the Apuseni-mountains and of the Mureş-valley. It is the famous citadel APOULON. The archaeological researches, carried out in several steps (1960-1971, 1988, 2005-2006, 2008, 2009, 2010), have shown here the existence of a strong military, economic and spiritual center. The beauty of this archaeological site, mentioned by Ptolemeus, can be discovered on the following track: Bucerdea Vinoasă - Cărarea Popii - Pădurea Crăivii - Făget- CETATEA APOULON - 8 km, duration of the trip: 3,5 hours.
The wine cellar “CASA APOULON” (The Apoulon-House – Bucerdea Vinoasa)
Located in the famous country of wine, ŢARA VINULUI, the colony Bucerdea Vinoasă doesn’t miss anything concerning traditional cellars. With a documentary founding evidence since 1238, where one writes about Boros-Bocsárd, and by means of the map drawn by Ioan Sabucus in the year 1566, one is reminded of our colony as one of the winegrowing centers of the area; over the entry in the stone-brick cellar of the old parish house of the village, it can still be read „1760” and „Franz Joszef 1896”. Visitors can see the permanent winegrowing and bottled wine exhibition in the County of Alba, and they can also get a taste from the traditional wines of the area. Churches: Sard, Ighiu, Ighiel, Cricău
The information about the religious history of the area can be enriched through visits paid to some important touristic places of interest near the village Bucerdea Vinoasă: The Reformed Church of Şard – three-nave Romanesque basilica built during the XIIIth century, with important Gothic modifications in the XVth century and baroque modifications in the XVIIIth century; The Reformed Church in Ighiu, a monument that is stilistically integrable in the late baroque and in the rococo; it was built between 1781-1783; The Reformed Church in Cricău, fortified in the XVth century, built after 1260 as a Romanesque basilica. The Orthodox Church St. Paraschiva in Ighiu – built, according to the inscription above the portal frame on the south side, in 1724, and, at the same time, endowed with a very valuable stone-carved decoration; The Orthodox Church in Ighiel, dedicated to the Pious Paraskevi, for the building of which several different years can be indicated: 1721, 1758 and 1784.
The nature reserve IEZERUL IGHIEL
The lake Iezer, the largest natural dam lake on chalk stone in the country, is to be found at a height of 925 m and is a component part of the chalk stone plateau Ciumerna. It is located on the south side of the Trascău-mountains and is among the few natural lakes of the Apuseni-mountains.
The Teleky – wine cellar (Telna)
Another well-known cellar in the documents of that age is also the one in Ţelna – the Teleky wine cellar, built in 1784; it was constructed by digging into a hill with a length of 150 m and a height of 6 m. Over time, wines from this vineyard have obtained prizes and awards at national and international level, for instance at the contests of 1936 - Bucureşti, 1937 – Paris, New – York -1939.
